The Austin Dog Alliance’s K9 Kids Club is designed for children in grades 4 – 5 who really like dogs. The typical child in these classes exhibits one of the following traits: a fascination with Animal Planet and or Animal Cops, a desire to own a dog, a love of dogs and everything dog related, a desire to work with dogs, a desire to learn more about dogs. Each week, a different speaker presents a topic to the kids about dog care and career opportunities related to working with dogs. From a parent’s perspective, the focus of this program is providing inspiration for working hard in school and building self-esteem by providing dog lovers a common activity and bonding experience.  From a kid’s perspective, it is a really fun class where you work hands on with a variety of dogs and learn a lot from trainers, vets, groomers and breeders.
