A day to promote community wide reading and dog related activities.  This event is being hosted by libraries in Liberty Hill, Austin, Georgetown and Round Rock.  Demos, rescue groups, microchipping and much more.  Bring the dogs and participate in the costume parade.

Paws in the Park

What: jjPaws in the Park

Paws in the Park is an event designed to celebrate dogs in our community.  It will feature five Olympic rings of activity designed for every member of the family, including your dog.

Dog Olympics Ring - Enter your dog in a variety of contests, including hurdle jumping, speed races, ice cream eating, relay races, and a best costume competition.  Winners will win prizes. Free

Training Ring - Local trainers will present 20 minute training sessions throughout the event.  Bring your dog and work with some of our area’s best trainers on all the basic skills.  Click here for schedule. Free

Children's Ring - Kids will be able earn Girl Scout badges, participate in face painting, the jumpy jump, and crafts designed for younger attendees.  Some activities will have nominal fees

Dog Sports and Fun - See demonstrations of Agility, Carting, Rally, K9 Police Officers, and even Dog Dancing.  Click here for schedule. Free

Meet the Breed Ring - Breed rescue groups will showcase their dogs available for adoption.  Austin Dog Alliance recognizes the Mutt as an official breed for this event.

Local food vendors, dog groomers, a pet photographer, a canine massage therapist, vets, boutiques and other pet related business will have booths showcasing their products and services.  Listen to music from our main stage while enjoying all the fun activities. Event t-shirts will be available for $5. The first 500 attendees will receive a goody bag.

This semiar will be presented by Debi Krakar.  Debi has fostered over 300 dogs in the last five years and is currently handling dog selection and initial vet care for Austin Dog Alliance.    She will speak from experience on all the ins and outs of fostering a shelter dog.  At the end of the seminar, we will discuss the adoption process for Austin Dog Alliance.  If you are planning to foster for another rescue group, this portion of the seminar is optional
