Gulliver is quite the man! He is a gentle natured "old soul" with a fabulous personality, good manners, perfect energy level and he happens to be just a pleasure to love!

Gulliver is finishing up a long journey and is ready to find someone worthy of his heart of gold. You see Gulliver joined rescue in mid-April with a series of health concerns due to neglect. All issues were easily "fixable" with a little time and love.

If you are looking for companion to share your world with Gulliver just might be looking for you. He loves to lay at your feet, go for car rides, stroll around the block or just hang out.

We have not yet had Gulliver living with kids but he seems like he would enjoy the company of school age or older children.

Don't let the photo deceive you! Gulliver is still growing his gorgeous coat back in. (He had to be shaved for some of his care.) His full length coat is about 3-4 inches long and he is absolutely stunning! For this reason Gulliver is not a dog you can leave in the backyard except for potty and play times as he will just get too hot.

Avi is a wonderful mommy who was found in the woods of Alabama just two weeks prior to giving birth! Some kind hikers found this sweet very pregnant, very hungery girl and brought her back to Austin so she and her "soon to be" little family could receive the love and care they needed.

Tessa is a wonderful, calm, well mannered little Golden Retriever mix and we do mean petite! She is about 35lb of love, licks and sweetness.



Tessa joined rescue immediately prior to giving birth to a lovely litter of pups who are now looking at adventuring into the world soon themselves.



Tessa is ready to meet prospective families and would love to spend some time visiting with you. She will still need to be spayed and undergo heartworm treatment (which will be covered at ADA's expense) but with the right family she can start settling in to her new life since this vet care will happen over the next 2 months.

Kayla is a beautiful Golden Doodle, which is rare to find in rescue. She was owner surrendered by her family due to work travel requirements.

Kayla is a gentle natured girl who enjoys being with other dogs, is excellent on a leash, is crate trained, and is working toward housetraining. She likes kids, has a fun and playful personality, and enjoys hanging with the family.

Titan is an active and friendly guy who seems to love everyone! He likes having fun, playing with his doggie playmates and hanging out doing interesting stuff with his humans! He would make an excellent jogging buddy!

At just a year of age Titan is a bit of a big baby. He has not had previous obedience training so he is learning a lot right now. His disposition is FABULOUS and so he is what we like to call a "blank slate"... a dog that is learning good dog rules but has the friendly, confident personality already in place.

Titan has a shiny black coat, he is heartworm negative and current on all vaccinations. He is already neutered so all he is waiting on is YOU!

A bold and happy puppy, Pfannie will rock your world! Playful and pretty, soft and cuddly, this little girl will grow into a beautiful lass. She will be a wonderful addition to any family or she will be your own best bud. Pfannie has already started crate and potty training and is doing fantastically! Cleo is a spunky little girl who loves to please. Her favorite things include squeaky toys, naps, and getting treats when she does something right. She is currently working on crate and potty training with her foster family and has been doing great! Buddy is a happy guy. He always wants to gaze lovingly into your eyes. He is a big soft ball of fluff that thinks he is a lap puppy. He would be wonderful in a home with kids. He loves to play but enjoys quiet time as well. Once you see his face you will fall in love with him!!

Bella is an energetic and fun girl!! She loves to play. She loves people and is always available for a belly rub. Kids would be a great thing for her. She is very smart and will be a quick learner. She is adorable, you will easily fall in love with her.

Blue is a dark brown lab mix, with spotted paws and hazel eyes. He is very gentle and sweet, loves kids and other dogs, and enjoys being groomed. Besides being great on the leash, Blue is compliant and submissive, but still has a young silliness about his personality. He is a perfect dog, no quirks or hang-ups. Blue will adapt well to almost any home or environment!

Scooby is a handsome white lab mix with unique tan shadings on his back and legs. He's a gentle, well behaved boy who loves to be with his people. Smart and eager to please, he is perfectly house and crate trained, and does well with kids. He also gets along well with other dogs, but would be fine in a one dog household. Scooby is a little excited about cats but is getting used to them and listens pretty well when reminded that they don't want to play with him.

His favorite thing to do is hang out with his family. He gives excellent hugs and loves to rest his head in comfy laps!

Scooby is shy with strangers, especially men. He needs some time to warm up and get used to people, but once he does he is a happy, goofy, joyous dog who is just a delight to be around! You can see more of this wonderful fellow here.

This brindle beauty came from Town Lake Animal Center in February and was selected for our Paws for Alert program to become a hearing alert dog - a service dog for the deaf. She has an angelic temperament and a sharp mind that kept her in the training program until recently...Angel let her trainers know that she just wanted to be a family dog instead (she shows too much interest in other dogs and not service dog work when out in public). That's okay with us, though, because the family that brings her home will be in HEAVEN!!

Angel has had basic obedience training and has lovely house manners. She is an ANGEL around kids of all ages (the kids from Paws for Alert did train her). She is extremely affectionate and just wants to please everyone. Just like any dog her age, she LOVES to play...she does well with other dogs and is good with cats, too. Angel is the PERFECT family dog!!

Angel is 35 pounds of PURE love. She won't be around for long, so put in your application for her today!

Cookie is a sweetheart of a Border Collie who had to be relinquished by her previous loving owner of 7 years. Cookie wants nothing more than to be close to her humans. She is calm, house-trained, gentle with the baby in her foster family, and adores the little girl in the house. Cookie is past her rambunctious puppy years and is looking for a forever home where she can go for walks and to the park, but also spend plenty of time watching her owners' favorite movies. Cookie would love to have a house with children and is even okay with other dogs and cats, although she would be happy to be an only dog. Cookie is overweight at the moment and her foster family has her on a diet and exercise regime. Her new owners will also need to be committed to keeping her at a more ideal weight.

Bexar is a fabulous, nearly 80lb Lab who has begun training to be a Search and Rescue Dog! His full name is Bexar Bones but he prefers to go by Bexar (bear). It has been decided that Bexar would do best with a family vs having a lifetime job so we have begun the search for true love.

Bexar is fabulous with kids, loves to play ball, knows how to crash in the house for quiet time. His favorite activities include FOOD, TENNIS BALLS and SWIMMING!

Bexar is fully obedience trained including the following commands: Crate trained, very nice down/stay, sit, come, speak, quiet, mine (drop it), walk on loose leash, off, hup (get on it). And the woman who has been training him is happy to spend an afternoon showing you how he has been trained and what commands he knows so that you can carry on.

Bexar would do best in a situation with a yard that he could play fetch in. Someone who spends lots of time at the lake or lives on the water where Bexar could swim and swim would be IDEAL!

Search and Rescue dogs are put through very extensive health screenings early on. Bexar's hips showed some mild changes which many dogs have and in a normal home life wouldn't be considered uncommon. As with most large breed dogs your vet would likely encourage you to keep him on a Glucosamine/Controitin supplememt and possibly a Joint Diet food such as Science Diet's J/D. Later in life he may have some arthritis... again, not uncommon large breed dogs (and humans!). In a working situation these items disqualified him from the training program. X-rays are available to be reviewed by your veterinarian prior to adoption for full disclosure to his new family.

Spencer is a loyal and very loving black Labrador Retriever mix.

He loves to be at the foot of his human. He is respectful and eager to please. He appears to be house broken and does not fuss at all in his crate. Going for walks with Spencer on lead is a real joy. Spencer would do best with an owner that can build up his confidence as he can be a little unsure at times. He has just started learning all his basic obedience commands and is catching on quickly!

He has done well with our children and is learning to not be too excited when around the smaller child.

If you are looking for a lovable, active and very loyal companion, Spencer is the dog for you. Come by and meet Spencer and have some playtime with him. You'll be glad you did!

Jumpin Jac is an energetic young man who is looking for a person who can keep up! Jac prefers a routine with people he knows without a lot a stranger interaction. He also thrives on consistent exercise and training to keep his muscular little body and bright mind busy.

Being a working breed dog Jac is looking for a non-kid, non-cat, non-critter lifestyle. Cattle Dogs are known for nipping at the heels of cattle to move them along and Jac has been known to do the same with some people. Only adopters with a clear understanding of the exercise and socialization needs of this active and brilliant breed will be considered.

As for other dogs, Jac seems to get along quite nicely after a proper introduction. Jac is also capable of jumping/climbing fences so a containment plan will be needed (leash walking, invisible fence, etc.).
