Melody is a sweet girl who is thankful to finally have someone take care of her for a change. She totally enjoys being pampered and having a spa day just as much as any of us! She is presently nursing a litter of four but is almost ready to wean. She will be ready to adopt in mid-March. She is currently living in a foster home with three kids and two dogs and does well with all. She has not yet been introduced to cats but is very mild mannered so she may not mind them. A spay deposit will be required.

Daisy is a little lap sitting sweetie pie. Sitting up on her hind legs and looking as lovely as can be is her specialty. Not as active as some JRTs she will make a great family pet for someone. She is quite diminutive weighing in at only 13 lbs. Check back as she is new to the foster program and more will be know about her soon.

Benny is an awesome little guy with a lot of potential. Benny has had a hard time lately and is still a little shy around new folks. Benny was living rough on the mean streets of Austin before he was brought into the shelter by Animal Control. Benny was so scared (and so smart) that it took them a week to catch him in a trap. By the time his ordeal was ending he was one scared little boy. He has made great strides since coming into his foster home. We don't think Benny had spent much time inside a house and he had some big adjustments to make. He now loves being inside and sleeping on the ottoman while his family watches some tube. He also loves sleeping on his foster mom's bed and getting rubbed behind his ears. He will sleep in his crate without complaining. Once he gets to know you he gives you his whole heart and even little doggie kisses. Benny is potty trained and crate trained. He loves to go for walks with his foster family. He is a very quiet dog and does not bark. He has learned how to use a dog door. Benny loves his foster doggie brothers and sisters and chases balls with them in the back yard. Benny has tested "low" heartworm positive. Don't let this deter you from considering him. Because of his small size and young age the vet has recommended the "slow kill" protocol for him which very simply is just making sure to give him his regular heartworm preventative every month. Benny needs someone who can understand his quiet nature and deal with him gently and with patience. He will not respond well to a heavy hand. He is such a wonderful, loving and joyful fellow when you get to know him. Help Benny forget his past and walk with him into a bright future. And he has a mohawk!!

Peek-A-Boo...I see you!  I'm Trixie and I have been in my foster home for over a week now. I get along with my doggy friends very well. I LOVE to be close to the action and wherever my people are. I am a medium energy gal and would love to have a nice fenced in yard to play in. Maybe I could have a little girl or boy to play with too. I really like toys a lot. My favorite thing to do is chew on my bone...yummy!   Foster Mom says, she wanted to give everyone a little "peek" to see how cute I am.     You may want to put your adoption application in as soon as possible!  I like this foster home gig, but a "forever home" is what I really want. Are you looking for a sweet, friendly, free-spirited gal? If so...I''m looking for you too.

Callie is a lovely girl with lots of love to give. She will sit very nicely for pets. Not much is known about her past as she was a stray that ended up at Town Lake Animal Shelter. She weighs in at 42 lbs. but we are expecting her to fill out some as she is lovingly cared for. Callie is new to the foster program and more will be known about her soon.

Are you looking for a new addition to the family? Well good news...I'm looking for a new family! So we might just be the perfect match.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I get along well with other dogs both large and small. I really enjoy going to the dog park to meet new friends. But bring a towel because I also like to sit in the water, as you can see from my picture.

I am still working on basic obedience such as sit, but with some practice, I'll master it soon. Hey-I did it three times today! That's a start, right??

I am crate trained and love to be pet (especially around my ears and under my neck). I am also great in the car, which my foster mom tells me is a big plus. I am potty trained. Who doesn't like that?!?

I am just what a great Border Collie should be: very smart and energetic! I would love to be in a home with a fenced yard that I can run around in. I'd love to find a human who either has experience with dogs like me or is willing to take me to obedience class. I will benefit from lots of exercise and mental stimulation; if you're looking for a hiking/jogging/interactive play partner I may be your guy! With my natural abilities and your commitment to helping me be the best I can be, we could achieve a lot!

What a clever dog! And gorgeous to boot. A curious but attentive dog, anyone will be lucky to have him. We're still working on some basic commands, but once he figures out what exactly you're asking of him, he's only too eager to please. (He does need to be told what he may and may not chew.)


Grady is just what a great Border Collie should be: very smart and energetic! He would love to be in a home with a fenced yard that he can run around in. He'd love to find a family that either have experience with dogs like him or a willingness to go to obedience class and provide him with mental stimulation. Grady will be a great "personal trainer" as he will benefit from plenty of exercise (1 hour a day minimum). If you're looking for a hiking/jogging/interactive play partner he may be your guy! With his natural abilities and your commitment to helping Grady be all he can be, agility or other advanced training is definitely a possibility.

Oh, and he's not sure what to make of the kitties in the next room just yet. One of them punched him in the nose, but he didn't retaliate--he just learned that those little creatures are pointy!

At the moment, he's sitting with his head in his foster mom's lap, looking up with his pretty brown eyes. You'll fall in love when you meet him. We hope he finds a home worthy of the long healthy life you'll be able to share with him.

Hi, I'm Watson! I'm so happy to be here, because I was all on my own on the streets for a long time before my foster mom found me and took me in. I'm so glad she did, and I'm really loving all of the people attention I'm getting now! I'm also a big fan of having a full tummy and getting to taste lots of yummy dog treats!

I had longer hair when I arrived here, but it was so full of mats that a lot of it had to be cut off. I was sad to see my lovely, long, super soft locks go, but it was so neat to see the stripes and colors hiding underneath! It turns out I'm even cuter than I thought! And you know what? I'm still just a silky soft! I'm also a very low shedder, whether my hair is long or short.

I settled into my foster home easily because I'm quite easy to please: I just want love, love, love! I love people and like just about everyone I meet, big or little. Sometimes I get so excited I just can't help but jump up to get people's attention so I would do best in a home without really small kiddos.

In my foster home there are two other doggies and I get along perfectly with the one who is my own size, but I'm having to really work to get along with the bigger guy. Maybe I just need to be with dogs my own size! At this point, I also need to be in a home without kitties. I've made a lot of progress with them but still have more work to do.

I don't need a ton of exercise, but I sure do like to take walks. I also like to run after balls, although I'm not quite sure what to do with them once I get to them. I'm fully housebroken, and I go in my crate on command and am pretty well behaved in it with the exception of a bit of whining when I want to make sure those around me know how much I'd rather be out where the action is!

Mainly I just want to be with people who love me, whether that means watching dinner being made in the kitchen or snuggling up in a cozy lap.
