Cooper, Pet Dog
This Coonhound mix is very people focused. He would do best in a home with a retired person/couple or someone who works from home. He would also enjoy the company of another dog, but it is not required.
He is very calm, and does not require much in terms of exercise or walks (he is content to sleep at your feet!). He has already passed his Canine Good Citizen test. If you are looking for a well trained dog that is super affectionate, Cooper may be perfect for you. He gets excited around other dogs, so if you frequently interact with other dogs, he is not a good fit. Cooper enjoys children.
Cooper's adoption fee is $400. He is HW negative, up to date on all vaccinations and neutered.
Boomer, Pet Dog
Boomer is an easy going and friendly lab/collie mix. He is about 2 years old. He knows all his basic commands. He enjoys climbing chair link fences. A 6 ft privacy fence is required to adopt.
He is only about 50 pounds and fun to interact with because he is very playful.
Jack, Service Dog Jack is a wonderful young dog that is very attentive. Jack is being trained through our Hounds for Heroes Program as a service dog for a Veteran experiencing post traumatic stress. Given Jack's energy level, he will likely be paired with a younger Veteran that wants to be physically active. He will be ready before Christmas.
Murphy, Service Dog This big handsome guy is training to be a service dog for a Veteran. He is a very young dog that is still full of youthful energy. He will not be ready until mid to late 2017.
Ruby, Service Dog Ruby is a 2 year old dog that is super affectionate and eager to learn. Ruby was rescued from the Fort Hood shelter. She is being trained as a Hounds for Heroes Service Dog with the goal of helping a Texas Veteran overcome the challenges of post traumatic stress.
Ginger, Service Dog This cute little dog is quickly becoming a Care Team favorite. She is training to be a Service Dog with a target adoption date of Spring 2017.
Gracie, Service Dog Gracie was recently rescued from a shelter. We are just getting to know her. Check back soon for an update.
Tex, Pet Dog This adorable dog weighs about 50 pounds. He is only about 10 months old. He knows sit, down, come, stay and is about half way there on loose leash walking. Due to an apparent leg break when he was young, he is available as a pet. Our Veterinarian at Lago Vista Animal Clinic feels he will be a happier if he is not always working as a service dog.
