Austin Dog Alliance is a volunteer driven organization. Our wonderful volunteers are out in the community with their therapy dog partners, rescuing dogs from shelters for placement as service dogs, and helping maintain our ranch. Volunteer your time - make a difference!
Volunteer Orientation

If you decide to join us, there is a one-time fee of $35 that covers a background check, t-shirt and insurance. This fee can be paid at the volunteer orientation.

Membership also includes volunteer-only special events such as our annual volunteer appreciation dinner and seminars.

Volunteer Opportunities

Opportunities for Children Under 15:  Opportunities for very young children are coordinated thru Little Helping Hands.  Opportunities for children 8 - 14 are available only with adult supervision.

Opportunities for Groups:  One-day opportunities for groups are coordinated by our volunteer coordinator.  Easy to schedule group opportunities include property maintenance projects such as landscaping and clearing brush, painting, power-washing and similar tasks.  If scheduled months in advance, groups can help with one-day events.  After your group project, we can arrange some play time with our service dogs in training.

Opportunities to Volunteer with your Dog:  Trained and certified therapy dogs and their handlers visit schools, libraries, nursing homes, hospitals and more.

Garden Club:  Join our team of volunteers who trim, plant flowers and help maintain our ranch.

Help with events and festivals:   Join our team of event planners or volunteer to work at booths to spread the word about Austin Dog Alliance.  Volunteers who represent us in public are part of our ambassador program.  Link to more information about ambassador training.

Work with our service dogs:   Opportunities exist to foster dogs for vacations, weekends or the 2 weeks when a dog first joins our program out of the shelter/rescue. You can also join our PAWS Pack team! You will be able to help with the dog and kennel care of our service dogs as well as assist in offsite adoption events, and play with our pups. A brief orientation is required.
